Evangelistic Christians who openly discuss their faith often cause shame in the listener. This is one reason why street preaching, door knocking, and hard preaching are so abhorred in our sinful society.
We Christians are motivated to warn the unsaved about eternal damnation, not to shame people for disagreeing with us.
The shame felt is conviction. The lost are moved by Truth to salvation, and they fight and struggle with the cognitive and spiritual dissonance they experience. If they would only accept the free gift of salvation, they would experience peace.
I pray today that more people would open up their hearts to the gospel, and that I would be more open to sharing it more often.
