“And when Gideon perceived that he was an angel of the Lord, Gideon said, Alas, O Lord God! for because I have seen an angel of the Lord face to face.”
–Judges 6:22
Just like the “men” who went with Abraham into Sodom, here is another example of an angel (possibly even a Christophany – OT appearance of Jesus Christ) speaking with a man as a man in such a way that they were almost human.
Hebrews 13:2 demonstrates that it is possible to entertain angels unaware.
How many of our day to day interactions, even during our “social distancing” do we take for granted? Maybe we showed kindness to an angel when we gave a couple bucks to a homeless man.
Maybe we were rude to an angel when we cursed at them in traffic.
I know that I surely need to be more aware of my interactions and ask God to help disinfect the root of the problem- my wretched, sinful, wicked, vain imagination. My flesh is dead and constantly trying to usurp the Holy Spirit.
I pray that I continue to improve my walk with God so that my spirit becomes my sole focus so that I might speak with an angel within lout remorse for my words, thoughts, or behaviors.
