“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
As someone who struggles with social anxiety, rest is very important to me these days.
Being in a crowded store is stressful enough, but the mask issue makes it five times worse.
Add to that this the semi-lockdown state, where we cannot enjoy sitting inside some restaurants or movie theaters.
Add to that, a contentious presidential election.
Add to that the daily stresses of marriage, raising children, work, and making sure to go to church, pray, and read the Bible at every opportunity while still trying to maintain some semblance of sanity, and rest is something that we NEED.
That’s why we NEED Jesus in our lives. He desires to take our stress away. He wants to bear our burdens. He wants to be our Lord; our Savior; our God.
So give your burdens to Him. Pray and ask that He give you please and REST in the knowledge that He is in control, even when things are not going your way.
2020 has been an insane year, and it’s not over yet. God is setting up His kingdom by destroying ours.
As a member of the royal family of Jesus Christ, we should remember that this place is not our home. Ours is coming soon.
