“Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.”
Esther 4:16
I want to draw special attention to the end of this verse: “I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.”
Imagine if Christians across the country had this attitude about the KING during these times.
How powerful would it be for every church, whether it be legal or not, to open the doors and say, “I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.”
When the fear of Coronavirus causes Christians to lock themselves in isolation, I have to wonder why they don’t go outside with the attitude, “if I perish, I perish.”
When our loved ones are dying alone in hospitals; when the news media, celebrities, or wicked politicians accuse us of killing someone because we won’t wear a mask; when some lunatic confronts you at the grocery store to lecture you or scream in your face, would to God I have the unmitigated FAITH to tell them, “I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.”
