People these days have many gods.
The unholy trinity of race, gender, and sexuality are gods. For many, these categories have become primary identities. They are the only markers for diversity. Groups are not recognized for their ranges in age, socioeconomic status, or ideological frameworks, but by skin color, genitalia, and sexual partners.
Abortion is a god. Whenever a “Right wing” politician or judge comes to power, huge search of people accuse them of attacking “women’s health” or “women’s choice,” when what they are really talking about is a woman’s ability to have the child in their womb killed and forcibly removed.
“Climate change” is a god. Many of these people who are willing to destroy the unborn are very concerned about the destruction of the environment.
“The science” is a god. With many of these other gods, we often hear that “we follow the science,” “the science is settled,” or “the science says,” as if science is a deity above and outside the biases of man. Science is supposed to be a toll to help us understand things. It cannot be “settled,” because human beings are constantly learning new things. Yet appeals to “the science” have become more and more prominent in our society.
1 Timothy 6:20 days, “O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:”
Science falsely so called. This is the god of which I speak.
Rather than walk with these gods, we must walk with the LORD Jesus Christ, now and forever.
These other gods are foolish and false. They cannot satisfy their followers. Christ, however, can and does.
Walk away from your gods, and walk with THE God.
