I Hope to be Hated

John 15:18 “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.”

We live in a society that is becoming increasingly hostile toward Christians and biblical Christianity. Believing in biblical views of sexuality, gender, race, marriage and marital roles, government, judicial systems, etc. lead those around us to label us as bigots.

This is a verse that I wear as a badge of honor in such a wicked society as ours.

When I was younger, I reveled in being hated because I wanted to be a villain. I now revel in being hated because I want to live a godly life.I was hated in college. I was hated as a graduate student. I am hated by a world that is rapidly selling its soul to the Devil.

So long as I am doing what the Bible says to do, I am more than willing to accept that hatred, because it is not directed at me as much as it is at my Lord and Savior. He has the power to deal with the haters. He is my sword and shield. He is my conqueror and deliverer.

Society can hate me. The world can hate Jesus Christ. In the end, I will eventually be with Him in heaven where hate does not exist.

I pray for godly strength to endure the hatred to come, because it will be increasingly difficult as society slides away from Jesus. I pray that I remain so solid in my Faith that I will be hated for it.
