The God Who Laughs

Psalm 2:4 “He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.”

When “the heathen rage” (Psalm 2:1) and the kings and rulers of the world gather together “against the Lord” (verse 2), the Lord laughs and mocks them.

This should chill us to the bone – not for our sakes, because we are saved, but for those unbelievers who rage and riot against God.

While we sit here watching our nation burn, God is laughing from His throne.

While the spirit of antichrist possesses our media and political leaders and move to persecute Christians, the Almighty watches and mocks them.

Imagine what that sort of mocking laughter from the Creator sounds like.

“Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure” (verse 5).

“He who laughs last, last best” – the heathen might be having a good time right now, but God will have the last laugh.
